Can I smoke in the property?

No, smoking is not permitted inside Eastgate Hideaway, in the communal areas or on the Rows.

Can I bring a pet?

Whilst we love animals unfortunately pets are not permitted within the apartment. The only exception is assistance dogs, however we require advance notice (contact us) if you intend to bring one.

Is there parking?

The apartment is located in the centre of town in a conservation area so unfortunately there is no parking available on site. Eastgate Hideaway is easily accessed by public transport as it is only a short distance from the bus station and frequent buses run from the train station to the city centre.

If you do decide to visit by car there are several public car parks nearby. There is blue-badge parking about 50 metres from the property.

How accessible is the apartment?

The section of the Rows that gives access to Eastgate Hideaway is accessible without steps via Godstall Lane, which runs off St Werburgh Street (opposite the cathedral).

The apartment itself is reached from Row level via a staircase and as it is within a listed building with limited space, unfortunately, there is no lift for access.

Due to its age and original construction many centuries ago, the flooring is at a a bit of a ‘quirky’ angle from the top of the staircase to the entrance hall.

What time can I check in?

Normal check in is from 4pm, but please ask as we may be able to accommodate earlier arrival depending on changeover. Please note that there is no restriction on how late you arrive as you will collect the key from a key-safe next to the front door.

How do I gain access?

Shortly before your stay we will send you i) the code to obtain the Row level front door key from the key-safe and ii) the code for the smart entry access to the apartment itself.

What time must I check out by?

Please leave the apartment by 10am to allow for it to be cleaned thoroughly ready for the next guests.

What is your cancellation policy?

Payment for your stay is due in full on booking. If you cancel more than 8 weeks ahead of the start of your visit we will refund 100% of the cost.

For cancellations of between 4 and 8 weeks we will refund 75% of the cost

For cancellations of between 2 and 4 weeks we will refund 50% of the cost

For cancellations of between 1 and 2 weeks we will refund 25% of the cost

For cancellations with less than 1 weeks’ notice before your arrival no refund will be payable.

Are you COVID-safe?

Eastgate Hideaway will be cleaned thoroughly before your stay, with particular attention to primary contact points, such as door-handles. Hand sanitiser and handwash are provided.
