Chester week long breaks

Once you have exhausted our suggested short break activities (click on button right) there is still plenty to do without having to travel far. These are our favourites:

Historic/cultural

Grosvenor museum: the museum just a short walk away covers local history dating back to Roman times.

Chester castle: visit this historic English Heritage site built in 1070 by William the Conqueror.

Cheshire Military Museum: covering local military history from the 17th century.

Relaxation

Grosvenor park: if the weather is nice this is a lovely park in which to spend a few hours wandering, relaxing an having a brew at the café.

Shopping: whether this is relaxation is debateable but the apartment is on the key shopping road, Grosvenor shopping centre is opposite the apartment, and boutique/independent shopping is a short stroll away.

Quirky

Alpaca walking: located a few miles out of Chester (15 minutes by bus) Rack and Ruin Alpacas offers a fun experience walking and feeding these cute animals. The pub/restaurant where it is based is also excellent.

Activities

Chester Zoo: this is an excellent zoo and you can easily spend the whole day here wandering around looking at the animals. It isn’t far – about 15 minutes away by bus (30 minutes door to door).

Escape rooms: there are several within easy reach (walking 5 to 10 minutes) including Breakout and Escapism.
